Changes to the Operations Manual that may affect you

Please take the time to review the OPS manual attached, See below for a quick reference to some of the changes that may affect you. It is your responsibility to ensure you are complaint with your privileges and limitations at all times when flying an NRHGPGC Site.

Broadcast Area and discrete frequency for Tyagarah, Murwillumbah and the Gold Coast flying training area commence 02/12/2021.

The Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) has established a new broadcast area in Northern NSW beginning on 2 December. Stretching from Stotts Island south to Byron Bay and inland as far as Kunchur on the Tweed River and east to a direct line between Cape Byron and Cudgen Headland, the broadcast area requires aircraft flying within it to broadcast on 127.55.

Reminder - Changes to Ballina Broadcast Area

Members operating in and around Ballina are to familiarise themselves with an Aviation Information Publications Supplement (AIP SUPP) released 13 January and effective 28 January 2021,

Expansion of Ballina Broadcast Area.

The broadcast area for Ballina was expanded on Thursday 28 January 2021.  It was expanded from 10 to 15 nautical miles (excluding the volume north of the Gold Coast 30 DME arc) from the surface up to 8,500 feet above mean sea level.  It will be mandatory for all aircraft flying in this area to make radio calls and only enter this airspace with an operational radio

Mandatory VHF SOPS for Lennox Head

In accordance with CASA Regulations, flying operations in the vicinity of Non-Controlled Aerodromes require the carriage and monitoring of a VHF Airband radio on the applicable CTAF. Please read the attached SOPS and the site guide for Lennox Head. If the SOPS are not adhered to there will be serious consequence for the continued use of Lennox Head as a flying site.
